FAQs

I’m buying a bandana for a friend’s dog, but I don’t know what size to buy.

We agree it can be tricky to buy a bandana for a pet that is not your own. In addition to the sizing information found on the product pages, the following chart shows some dog breeds and their typical neck sizes to give you an idea of what size of Bandana would best fit them. When in doubt, buy the next size up and leave a note when you check out indicating the dog or cat breed.

How do I keep my catnip products fresh?

When your cat is not playing with their catnip toy, it is recommended that you store it in a dry, dark place. When it is able to fully dry out, away from sunlight (i.e. inside a cupboard), you can prolong its life and ensure that it lasts for months. Some people may also choose to try putting their catnip toys in the freezer to extend their freshness. However, this is not a storage method that we have done a lot of testing with, but give it a try and let us know how it works!

I thought all cats loved catnip, but my kitten doesn’t seem very interested in their catnip pouch. Why is this?

Don’t worry, most cats don’t usually develop an interest in catnip until they are a bit older, around 3 – 6 months of age. Put the pouches in a dry, airtight container in a dark place until they are a bit older and try again.

Are Wiggles and Whiskers products tested by an outside testing facility for safety purposes?

No, but all of our products/materials are made and stored in a safe, smoke free and environment with nontoxic materials. We have done our best to test our toys, bandanas, accessories etc. to ensure their durability and safety, ultimately you know your pet best. Please supervise your pet while they are using all Wiggles and Whiskers products.

What do you mean by “Processing Time”?

Processing time is the time it takes for me, Megan, the maker here at Wiggles and Whiskers, to select, package, and take your order to the post office. For “Ready to Go” items like Cat Nap Play Mats, Ready-To-Go Bandanas, Dapper Dog Collars, Cutie Pie Mice, Collar Bows, and One of Kind Bandanas, the amount of time to process the order would be not much at all (1 day). However, for Custom Order Bandanas and Bow Ties please refer to the processing times indicated on the product ordering pages for the most up-to-date estimates. If you have a specific deadline or occasion you are planning for please contact me at: megan@wigglesandwhiskers.ca .

Where do you ship?

Currently our products are only available in Canada.  As we are a relatively new home-based business, our aim is to serve Canadian customers well and possibly expand later to include the United States. We would love for you to follow us on Instagram or Facebook to keep up with our progress.

What shipping carriers do you use?

Canada Post

We use Canada Post Lettermail to ship a majority of our products as many items can be compressed effectively through vacuum sealing. This technique ensures products reach their destination undamaged (fresh in the case of catnip toys!) and it also drastically reduces shipping costs.

No tracking # or insurance is provided with this service, but a photo of your order can be taken at the time of mailing and emailed to you as confirmation of shipment upon request. The speed of this method varies depending on the time of year.

Sometimes we will also use Canada Post Expedited Shipping for larger packages. A tracking # is provided to customers with this service. Canada Post has a shipping speed guarantee of 3 business days for locations within Ontario and within 7 days for the rest of Canada. Unfortunately in the last year this method of shipping has become VERY expensive due to a number of factors and it has not been feasible for us to use it most of the time.

Third Party Carriers

Due to the high cost of shipping through traditional carriers (ie. Canada Post), we have sourced some efficient and reputable third party carriers available to us in the Kitchener-Waterloo area for shipping packages. We use ChitChats and Stallion Express. These carriers may in fact also use Canada Post agents at various stages of the delivery of packages. Third party carriers are much more cost effective, you will still be provided a tracking number and for the most part you will receive your package in about the same amount of time as if it was coming from Canada Post.

You are a Canadian business. Why don’t you use the metric system on your website?

Yes, the metric system is what is officially used in Canada; however, the reality is my Grandmother and Mother taught me how to sew, and both of them preferred the imperial system. We also find that when customers are providing us with measurements, inches, as opposed to centimeters, is what is most often preferred. Lastly, in the interest of space and user friendliness of the website on mobile devices, it just took up too much space to include both units of measurement on each product description page.

Do you sell your products on a wholesale basis?

We are open to various types of wholesale relationships, both traditional store fronts and e-commerce sites. We are always adding to our collection of accessories and toys available for wholesale purchasing, as well as being able to work with retailers/wholesalers to develop unique products that meet specific needs and price points.

Please contact us by email ( megan@wigglesandwhiskers.ca ) if you are interested in receiving more information about products and pricing.
